Topshop has been sued for using Rihanna’s image on it’s brand t-shirts without authorization. A photographer sold Rihanna’s image to the top retail store in the UK and it was used on t-shirts and made available for sales to the public. When pop star singer, Rihanna found out, she told the brand store to stop selling them and tried to negotiate a resolution with them.
Topshop however blew her off and she decided to sue. It should be known that in UK, they don’t have a ‘Right of Publicity Law’ unlike USA. Over the years, photographers have sued Rihanna for copyright infringement of their photos in her artistic work? Now it Rihanna’s turn.
