DESIGNER, ROBERTO CAVALLI’S SKINNY DIAGRAM OF BEYONCE CAUSES CONTROVERSY ONLINE.
Noo! That’s not the Beyonce we all know and love. She is beautiful, tall and curvy. This is the general response to the image above. A well known foreign designer, Roberto Cavalli released this sketch of Beyonce for his Ad campaign on his facebook page. The image had Beyonce in one of his timeless pieces but what has infuriated the public is his skinny imitation of her
A lot of people have criticized him for discriminating against curvy women. It is well known that a lot of designers prefer skinny women as models but it seems this designer took it too far by digitally altering Beyonce’s body. Some people said,..................
“If this is supposed to be a sketch of Beyonce why not actually draw Beyonce instead of some imaginative image which fits the status quo for sickly looking run way models??”
“I really don’t get why brands force women to follow certain kind of body shapes that most people find unattractive. Real Beyonce figure is!
Is the designer implying that being skinny is better than being curvy?
There is a clear difference between being skinny, healthy and obese. Most people believe that you must be a size two or zero to be tagged as sexy. They also consider anything above an eight as fat and this is wrong. Everyone has a unique type of body, people should strive to be healthy and not skinny or fat. Being tagged as a curvy woman is a wonderful thing likewise being slim and fit not skinny and anorexic.
Lets try and push out of this mediocre way of thinking and opt for a size healthy- what suits your body best.
What do you think of the image?
